Northern Expressway on-ramp permanent closure
Thursday, 13 February 2020
As part of the Northern Connector Project, the Northern Expressway on-ramp from Port Wakefield Road (northbound) will be permanently closed from 8pm, Sunday, 16 February, weather permitting.
Access to the Northern Expressway from Port Wakefield Road (northbound) will be maintained via a detour from Waterloo Corner and Heaslip Roads.
This closure will allow for the final stage of works for the Northern Interchange, including pavement works, installation of light poles, new line marking and the removal of the existing roadway.
Once the Northern Connector is open to traffic, motorists travelling northbound on Port Wakefield Road will be able to access the Northern Expressway via the Bolivar and Waterloo Corner Interchanges, or Heaslip Road.
Speed and lane restrictions will apply in the vicinity of the works, including Port Wakefield Road and the Northern Expressway. Please follow directional signage and observe speed restrictions.
