Minister for Infrastructure and Transport
The Hon. Tom Koutsantonis MP
Tom was raised in the western suburbs. He attended Cowandilla and Netley Primary Schools before attending Adelaide High School and going on to study at Adelaide University.
The son of Greek migrants, Anthony and Dimitra, Tom joined the Australian Labor Party at a young age with the encouragement of Labor stalwart and former SA Deputy Premier, the late Jack Wright. Tom first volunteered in Jack Wright’s office when he was 14.
Tom was elected to the South Australian State Parliament on 11 October 1997, at age 26. Tom was elevated to the Ministry on 3 March 2009 and remained in Cabinet until the 2018 State election. Over this period, he served as Minister for Correctional Services, Youth and Volunteers, Gambling, Small Business, Transport, Planning and Infrastructure, Mining and Energy, State Development and as Treasurer.
He is SA Labor’s longest serving MP.
Tom is married to Anthea and they have two daughters, Tia and Helena. They live in Torrensville and he is a tragic Liverpool supporter.

Minister for Police, Emergency Services and Correctional Services (with responsibility for road safety)
The Hon. Dan Cregan MP
Dan Cregan is the Member for Kavel, Special Minister of State and Minister for Police, Emergency Services and Correctional Services.
Dan was first elected as the Member for Kavel in March 2018 and was humbled to be re-elected in March 2022. Dan contested the seat as an independent, believing there was no whole-of-government plan to address the growing needs of the Adelaide Hills.
He considers his appointment to Cabinet in April 2024 to be a genuine privilege.
As a Minister, he will remain independent and retain a strong independent voice on legislation before parliament.
Having joined the Cabinet, Dan will lead the government’s implementation of nation-leading political donation reform whilst developing mechanisms to safeguard our democracy as Special Minister of State.
He is deeply passionate about the welfare of first responders and is proud to serve as the state’s Police, Emergency Services and Correctional Services Minister.
Dan’s interests are reading and exploring our beautiful Adelaide Hills region.
