Code of conduct
Our code of conduct aligns with the Australian Human Rights Commission’s National Principles for Child Safe Environments.
Our code of conduct
This code of conduct applies to all employees, contractors and volunteers.
We do not accept or tolerate offensive behaviours. This includes all forms of bullying, harassment and discrimination.
Our people:
- comply with our Child Safety Policy (DP056) at all times and take all reasonable steps to ensure the safety and protection of children and young people
- and customers will comply with all child safety and privacy laws
- treat everyone respectfully, protectively with honesty and equity, including children and young people
- set and maintain clear boundaries about acceptable behaviours, with and around children and young people, during the course of their employment
- listen with empathy and respond appropriately to concerns and feedback from children and young people
- encourage children and young people to provide feedback on matters that are important for them
- will ensure that when a child or young person requires one-on-one instruction or discussion, that another adult is present or within visual and hearing range
- have a responsibility to report and intervene against behaviours that compromise the safety or wellbeing of children and young people
- will respond quickly, equitably and with transparency to complaints made by a child or young person, their parent, guardian or carer
- will report and document concerns raised about inappropriate adult conduct towards children and young people.
