Partial Seaford rail line closure for essential works
Monday, 30 April 2018
The Department of Planning, Transport and Infrastructure (DPTI) advises that a partial, late-night rail closure will take place on the Seaford line from Sunday 6 May to Friday 11 May 2018 to allow for essential maintenance works.
To facilitate these works, an extended closure is required to access the rail corridor without train services operating.
Train services will operate between Adelaide and Brighton railway stations, with substitute buses running between Brighton and Seaford railway stations each night at approximately 9pm Sunday 6 May until last service Friday 11 May 2018.
Train services on the Seaford line will resume as normal from Saturday 12 May 2018.
Works being undertaken on the southern section of the Seaford line by DPTI include:
* the installation of new light poles and the removal of existing, obsolete poles at Christie Downs Railway Station,
* overhead wire maintenance between Christie Downs and Seaford railway stations.
Full details of the closure are available at www.adelaidemetro.com.au or call the Adelaide Metro Infoline on 1300 311 108.
