Bigger, better TTP Park ‘n’ Ride opens for business
Thursday, 15 February 2024
Hundreds of new parking spaces at a major transport hub will be available from tomorrow, helping make public transport an even more attractive option for north-eastern suburbs commuters, as construction finishes on the expansion of the Tea Tree Plaza Park ‘n’ Ride.
The $43.5 million expansion, which will open to the public tomorrow, has increased the capacity of the facility to 1200 car parks - an increase of 500.
It is part of the South Australian Government’s investment in public transport infrastructure in Adelaide’s north-eastern suburbs, making access to Adelaide’s public transport network easier and more convenient.
The new multi-storey car park - consisting of a ground floor and three upper levels - has been built adjacent the existing Park ‘n’ Ride.
Access to the Tea Tree Plaza Park ‘n’ Ride expansion is via the existing Park ‘n’ Ride and Busway Access Road off Smart Road. Vehicles can enter through the existing Park ‘n’ Ride and connect through a new ramp between the two buildings, meaning users will have a single entry and exit point.
This entry and exit point has also been upgraded, while the second exit lane has been extended along the full eastern length of the Park ‘n’ Ride & Busway Access Road – creating a three-lane roadway and removing the need to merge immediately into one exit lane when leaving the facility.
Car parking will continue to be discounted to $2 for metroCARD users. For more details on using Park n Ride facilities, visit the Adelaide Metro website.
