River Murray flood update: Swan Reach and Morgan ferries anticipated to close next week
Friday, 2 December 2022
Swan Reach and Morgan ferries are expected to close next week as water levels continue to rise on the Murray River.
It is anticipated that Swan Reach ferry will be closed on Monday or Tuesday next week, while Morgan ferry may close a day or two later.
More information will be provided as it becomes available.
A reminder that Lyrup ferry was closed on 30 November 2022 while Mannum Upstream ferry was closed on 1 December 2022.
Alternative river crossing for the Lyrup ferry are at Paringa bridge (upstream) and Berri bridge (downstream).
Traffic can continue to cross the river at Mannum using the downstream ferry, which currently remains operational.
All other ferry services are currently operating as normal.
The Department is closely monitoring water levels to keep ferries operating as long as it is safe to do so.
However, conditions are changing quickly, and ferries may have to be closed at short notice.
