Reopening of the Cape Jervis Jetty
Thursday, 1 April 2021
The Department for Infrastructure and Transport advises the Cape Jervis Jetty has been reopened to the public today in time for the Easter long weekend.
The jetty has been closed since October 2020 to facilitate repair works on Kangaroo Island berthing facilities.
Works including the removal of disused fenders, propping and levelling the deck and bracing a number of piles to maintain their integrity were undertaken on the jetty during this closure.
Following an inspection of the ferry berthing structure, the Cape Jervis Jetty was deemed safe to be reopened.
Sealink ferry services were able to maintain their normal schedule of operations during these repair works.
The Department thanks the community for their patience while these important works were being undertaken.
