Darlington bridge closures for asphalting

As part of the Darlington Upgrade Project, the northbound bridge from Main South Road to the Southern Expressway (lowered motorway), and the Ayliffes Road bridge, will be closed for final asphalting works.
To safely facilitate the works the following traffic management with be in place:
9am - 10pm, Friday, 15 May
The northbound Main South Road bridge will be closed, with the following traffic arrangements in place:
- Northbound Main South Road motorists will be required to use the Main South Road surface road to continue northbound.
6am - 10pm, Saturday, 16 May
The Ayliffes Road bridge will be closed, with the following traffic arrangements in place:
- Northbound Main South Road motorists wanting to access Ayliffes Road will be detoured via Sturt Road and Shepherds Hill Road
- Northbound Southern Expressway motorists wanting to access Ayliffes Road will be required to exit the Southern Expressway at Darlington to continue on the Main South Road surface road and follow the detour via Sturt Road and Shepherds Hill Road.
Access for emergency service vehicles and public transport services will be maintained at all times during these closures. Pedestrian and cyclist access will not be affected during these works.
Public transport will not be affected by the works.
Please plan ahead, allow extra travel time and take extra care when workers are on site. Observe speed limits, lane restrictions and traffic controllers when travelling through the area.
