Thursday, 21 November 2019
UPDATE: The Department of Planning, Transport and Infrastructure (DPTI) advises that the Granite Island Causeway at Victor Harbor has been reopened to pedestrians and vehicles, including the horse-drawn tram.
--
The Department of Planning, Transport and Infrastructure (DPTI) advises that as a result of winds exceeding 100km/h in the past 24 hours, the Granite Island Causeway at Victor Harbor will be closed to all pedestrians and vehicles, including the horse-drawn tram, until further notice.
DPTI advises the public to be very careful around jetties during strong winds.
This closure is part of DPTI’s Operational Control Procedure, which requires the closure of the causeway to vehicles once winds reach 50km/h to ensure public safety.
