Tram testing to take place in city
Tuesday, 23 July 2019
Tram testing is planned to take place in the city this afternoon (Tuesday, 23 July), as major track works for the City South Tram Line Replacement Project near completion.
Test trams will operate on the newly upgraded section of tram lines between South Terrace, the Entertainment Centre and Botanic Gardens from approximately 2.30pm.
Motorists and pedestrians are reminded to exercise caution while this important testing is undertaken.
Tram services will continue to operate as scheduled between Glenelg and South Terrace, with substitute bus services from South Terrace to Entertainment Centre and Royal Adelaide Hospital to Botanic Gardens.
Following the completion of testing, regular tram services are scheduled to recommence in the city from the first service on Wednesday, 24 July.
The City South tram stop at the intersection of Sturt/Halifax streets and King William Street will remain closed following the resumption of services as works continue to finalise the stop to make it disability accessible.
