Ayliffes Road surfacing works
Thursday, 4 July 2019
Road surfacing works will be undertaken on Ayliffes Road, St Marys this weekend, as part of the Darlington Upgrade Project.
The eastbound carriageway of Ayliffes Road, between South Road and Norman Street, will be closed to traffic for road surfacing works, weather permitting, between the hours of 8pm Friday, 5 July, and 6am Monday, 8 July.
During the works the following traffic arrangements will be in place:
- Traffic on Ayliffes Road will be diverted onto the westbound carriageway, and reduced to one lane in each direction between South Road and Norman Street.
- Right turn movements from Norman Street to Ayliffes Road, and from Ayliffes Road to Norman Street, will not be permitted. A detour via Stanlake Avenue will be in place.
Preparatory works, ahead of the road surfacing works, will be undertaken from 10am to 8pm on Friday, and will result in the eastbound carriageway of Ayliffes Road being reduced to one lane during this time.
Speed and lane restrictions will be in place during the works, and motorists are advised to take care when driving through the area. These works are weather dependant.
DPTI thanks motorists for their patience while these important works are undertaken.
The Darlington Upgrade Project, once complete, will deliver a non-stop motorway along South Road between the Southern Expressway and Tonsley Boulevard, and forms part of the South Australian and Australian governments' commitment to complete the North-South Corridor.
