Safety to be improved on Goyder Highway
Friday, 8 March 2019
Surfacing works to improve safety on Goyder Highway between Burra and Morgan are set to commence next week.
From Tuesday, 12 March, the Department of Planning, Transport and Infrastructure (DPTI) is undertaking pavement surfacing works to improve the surface quality and extend the life of the road at the following location:
- Goyder Highway, Between Burra and Morgan, approximately 25km west of Morgan, for 5.4km.
Work will be undertaken between 7am and 5.30pm weekdays and weekends, with expected completion in mid-March, weather permitting.
The road will remain open to traffic with minor lane restrictions. A 25 km/h speed restriction will apply when workers are on site, with a maximum 80 km/h speed restriction in place until the reinstatement of the pavement marking is complete.
The safety of workers and the general public is paramount so please observe speed limits when travelling through work zones.
The works are being carried out at an estimated cost of $440,000 as part of the State Government’s Periodic Road Maintenance Program.
DPTI thanks motorists for their patience while these important safety works are carried out.
