FREE transport for Superloop Adelaide 500
Thursday, 21 February 2019
The Superloop Adelaide 500 will roar into town from Thursday, 28 February, to Sunday, 3 March.
Event ticket holders can travel FREE all day and night during the event on any Adelaide Metro bus, train or tram on presentation of their Race Day ticket to Adelaide Metro drivers or staff at Adelaide Railway Station.
Children aged 14 years and under can travel free on Adelaide Metro services when accompanied by an adult with a valid Superloop Adelaide 500 ticket.
In addition to FREE travel, Adelaide Metro will be putting on additional bus services and the Mad March City Loop tram. Train timetables operate at a 30 minute frequency in the evening, seven days a week, on the Seaford, Gawler, Belair and Outer Harbor lines. Extra train carriages will be added where needed.
For more information on public transport services visit www.adelaidemetro.com.au or call 1300 311 108.
Despite measures to reduce congestions, road closures in the city’s East End will cause some delays.
Specialist staff from the Traffic Management Centre will live monitor the road network, continually tweaking signalling to maximise green time.
Other measures again planned this year include:
- Cancelling all roadworks on the main feeder roads into the east of the city
- Coordinated traffic signalling to give buses priority
- Electronic signs broadcasting updates of travel times
- Early warning messages via the AddInsight app and travel time signs
Motorists are advised to plan ahead and allow additional travel time.
