Temporary partial Belair rail line closure for essential works
Wednesday, 9 January 2019
The Department of Planning, Transport and Infrastructure (DPTI) advises that a partial rail closure will take place on the Belair line from first service Wednesday, 16 January through to the last service Thursday, 24 January to allow for essential works.
The partial line closure will take place from Blackwood to Belair with trains will operating between Adelaide and Blackwood Stations and substitute buses between Blackwood and Belair Stations.
The substitute buses will connect with the trains arrival and departure times at Blackwood Station and a dedicated bus with a bike trailer will run daily for those commuters requiring this service.
Passengers travelling to the City from Glenalta, Pinera and Belair are advised to arrive at their stops 15 minutes earlier, as the sub bus journey is longer due to the route the bus is required to travel.
Essential planned routine maintenance is undertaken to maintain the long-term usage and safety of the Belair line.
There will be signage directing the public to the appropriate substitute buses to help lessen the inconvenience to passengers.
Full details of the partial closure are available at www.adelaidemetro.com.au or call the Adelaide Metro Infoline on 1300 311 108
