Safety to be improved at the junction of Swanport Road, Bridge Street and Mannum Road, Murray Bridge
Tuesday, 17 April 2018
The Department of Planning, Transport and Infrastructure (DPTI) will be improving safety at the junction of Swanport Road, Bridge Street and Mannum Road, Murray Bridge by widening the intersection for vehicles turning in and out of Bridge Street.
Widening the signalised intersection will reduce the risk of ‘side swipe’ type vehicle crashes and improve pedestrian safety.
The road will remain open, with traffic restricted to one lane under traffic control when required and a 25 km/h speed restriction while workers are on site. Other speed restrictions may apply subject to on site conditions.
Work will be undertaken between 7.00 am and 5.00 pm, Monday to Friday and DPTI will make every effort to minimise the impact on road users during these works.
Works will commence Monday 23 April and are expected to be completed by June 2018, weather permitting.
The $415,000 safety initiative is funded by the South Australian Government’s Improved Rural Roads Program.
DPTI thanks motorists for their patience while these important safety works are carried out.
