Changes to traffic conditions on Lobethal Road and Old Norton Summit Road during February and March 2018
Friday, 2 February 2018
The Department of Planning, Transport and Infrastructure (DPTI) advises motorists that repair works will commence on a section of Lobethal Road, leading to its temporary closure from Monday 12 February 2018.
Lobethal Road will be temporarily closed between its intersections with Stony Rise Road, Ashton and Basket Range Road, Basket Range from Monday for approximately six weeks (weather permitting) to repair a retaining wall.
Access for emergency vehicles will be maintained at all times.
Traffic detours will be in place via Stony Rise, Tregarthen, Greenhill and Basket Range Roads.
Repair works will also continue next week along Old Norton Summit Road which will be under traffic management control between Norton Summit Road, Magill and Lobethal Road between Monday 5 February and Friday 9 February 2018 to repair culverts.
Traffic detours will be in place via Norton Summit Road and motorists using Old Norton Summit Road can expect delays while works are in progress.
These works are a continuation of the storm damage repair work undertaken on Old Norton Summit Road between 22 and 25 January and on Lobethal Road between 29 January and 3 February 2018.
Businesses and residents on Lobethal Road and Old Norton Summit Road can still access their properties while the works are in progress but are advised to follow the directions of traffic management staff and signage.
The safety of workers and the general public is paramount so please take care when travelling through work zones.
DPTI thanks road users and local residents for their patience and understanding while these improvements are undertaken.
