Temporary weekend night closure of the Gawler rail line
Monday, 17 July 2023
The Gawler rail line will be temporarily closed for two nights over a weekend at the end of July 2023, to allow works on four pedestrian crossings.
The line will be closed from 10pm until last service Friday, 21 July 2023, and then again from 10pm until last service Sunday, 23 July 2023. The line will operate as usual on Saturday night.
During these temporary closures, substitute buses will operate between Adelaide Railway Station and Gawler Central Railway Station, servicing all stops along the line.
The temporary closures will allow works to progress that cannot be safely undertaken while trains are operating in the rail corridor. Works will be undertaken at the Parafield Gardens, Chidda South, Chidda North and Brown Terrace crossings.
The works have been scheduled at night over the weekend to minimise the impact to commuters.
The Department apologises for the inconvenience and thanks commuters for their patience while these works are undertaken.
Passengers are encouraged to visit www.adelaidemetro.com.au to check their timetable in real time and plan their trip with Adelaide Metro’s journey planner.
