Free public transport to see the magic of the Christmas Pageant
Wednesday, 9 November 2022
Enjoy free travel on all Adelaide Metro bus, train and tram services to and from this year’s National Pharmacies Christmas Pageant, as the iconic event celebrates its 90th birthday in a welcomed return to the streets of Adelaide.
Free public transport will be available between 6am-2pm on Saturday 12 November, providing an easy option to secure a great spot as the much-loved event returns to its traditional street format after two years at Adelaide Oval.
Additional bus, train and tram services will also be running before and after the event to cater for an expected crowd of more than 300,000 pageant-goers.
This year’s event marks the 90th annual National Pharmacies Christmas Pageant, continuing a tradition spanning generations of loved ones coming together to celebrate the start of the Christmas season in the heart of the CBD.
Passengers are encouraged to visit www.adelaidemetro.com.au to check their timetable in real time and plan their trip with Adelaide Metro’s journey planner.
From 5am-1pm, no tram services will operate on King William Street or parts of North Terrace, which form part of the pageant route. Services from Glenelg will run to and from South Terrace, while services from the Entertainment Centre will run to and from Adelaide Railway Station.
Some bus stops will also be closed, with services aiming to bring passengers as close as possible to the pageant route.
There will be a number of road closures in Adelaide’s CBD to ensure a safe pageant.
