Sturt Highway near Paringa reopened following successful bridge repairs
Friday, 28 October 2022
The Sturt Highway near Paringa has reopened today following the completion of repair works on the Paringa Causeway Bridge (the bridge closest to Renmark).
All detours and speed restrictions have now been removed, with the posted speed limit of 80km/h reinstated.
Permanent line marking will be completed in the coming week, weather permitting.
The repair works included replacing a concrete bridge beam, reconstructing a section of the concrete bridge deck, asphalt road resurfacing and line marking.
These works have been undertaken to ensure the ongoing structural integrity of the bridge for all road users.
The Department for Infrastructure and Transport thanks road users for their patience during the repairs, which required detours to be in place since works began on 17 October 2022.
The roads used as part of the detours will now be inspected to determine whether any remediation work is required as a result of the increased traffic volumes. If required, the remediation works on these roads will be undertaken.
