Temporary closures of the Belair and Outer Harbor/Grange rail lines

The Department for Infrastructure and Transport advises there will be temporary full closures of the Belair and Outer Harbor/Grange rail lines from approximately 7:30pm on Sunday, 27 September until 5:30am on Monday, 28 September for essential electrical maintenance.

Essential maintenance work on the Adelaide Railway Station exhaust fans is being undertaken, requiring the fans to be turned off, which prohibits diesel trains from operating.

To facilitate these works the following services will be cancelled and replaced with substitute buses:

Adelaide to Outer Harbor

Outer Harbor to Adelaide

Substitute buses will operate between Adelaide and Belair, and Outer Harbor and Grange as closely as possible to the current train timetables and servicing all stations.

Regular full line services will resume from first service Monday, 28 September.

Please note that a partial line closure will be in place on the Gawler rail line, between Adelaide and Salisbury, on Sunday, 27 September to facilitate works for the Gawler Rail Electrification Project.

The Seaford line will not be impacted and will continue to operate during these works.
