Safety to be improved on roads in the Southern Area

Works have commenced to improve safety on various sections of roads in the Southern Areas with more than 9.5km of surfacing works

The Department of Planning, Transport and Infrastructure (DPTI) is undertaking pavement surfacing works to improve the surface quality and extend the life of the road at the following locations:

• South Eastern Freeway, approx. 2km East of White Hill Interchange, for 1.1km (LHS)
• South Eastern Freeway, approx. 2km East of White Hill, for 1km, (RHS)
• Sandergrove Road, approx. 10km South of Strathalbyn, for 2.1km
• Inman Valley Road, approx. 5km South-East of Yankalilla, for 2.2km
• Reedy Creek Road, approx. 25km South of Palmer, for 3.1km

Work will be undertaken between 7:00am and 5:30pm Monday to Sunday, with expected completion in March, weather permitting.

Minor lane restrictions and a 25 km/h speed restriction will apply when workers are on site, with a maximum 80 km/h speed restriction being in place until the reinstatement of the pavement marking is complete.

The safety of workers and the general public is paramount so please take care when travelling through work zones.

The works are being carried out at an estimated cost of $755,000 as part of the State and Federal Government’s Periodic Road Maintenance Programs.
