Expanded Crafers Park ‘n’ Ride to make public transport more accessible for Adelaide Hills commuters
Monday, 1 July 2024
Commuters in the Adelaide Hills will be able to easily and conveniently take advantage of public transport with the opening of the new Crafers Park ‘n’ Ride.
The new Park ‘n’ Ride makes more parking options available during the morning peak, with 85 additional parking spaces - including accessible bays and motorcycle parking.
The new Park ’n’ Ride is situated southeast of the existing Crafers Park ‘n’ Ride, adjacent to the off-ramp (westbound) and South Eastern Freeway. It has easy access from the Freeway, and will reduce the number of cars parking in local side streets.
The total number of parking spaces is now more than 120 across the two locations.
Increased safety and security are a feature, with new lighting and CCTV cameras to ensure people feel safe and secure when parking their vehicles.
There is also a mural featuring Australian fauna and flora, created by local artist Cat Dean.
The South Australian Government committed $6 million to deliver the additional parking at the Crafers Park ’n’ Ride, and the project has supported approximately 25 full-time equivalent jobs during the construction period.
