Learning to drive online? Good thinking, 99!
Friday, 3 May 2024
Online is the way to go! Over 99% of South Australians going for their learner’s permit are now choosing the flexible, online course myLs to start their driving journey.
An overwhelming 99.4% of almost 2500 novice drivers who obtained their learner’s permit in March 2024 did so through the online program, embracing the convenience and avoiding a trip to a Service SA centre to undertake the test.
myLs is designed to allow users to learn at their own pace. Completing the course takes about four hours, with a bank of over 800 questions, activities, quizzes and challenges designed to reinforce and embed vital road safety messages prior to the final assessment.
Learners are encouraged to engage with other people, including parents and guardians, to ensure they fully understand road rules and feel safe behind the wheel from their very first drive.
myLs provides applicants access for up to 12 months, and during this time the theory test can be attempted as many times as necessary.
Even those who already hold a current learner’s permit or driver’s licence in South Australia can choose to undertake the myLs as a refresher course.
All learner drivers are still required to complete the mandatory supervised driving hours, and pass both the Hazard Perception test and a practical driving test to obtain a provisional licence.
