Train services impacted from approximately 9am to 3pm tomorrow (Thursday) due to industrial action
Wednesday, 10 April 2024
Train services will be impacted from approximately 9am until 3pm tomorrow (Thursday 11 April 2024) due to industrial action being taken by some drivers employed by private contractor Keolis Downer Adelaide.
Adelaide Metro received final confirmation this morning that industrial action will mean no train services will run between 10am and 2pm tomorrow, however residual impacts are expected to affect services from approximately 9am. Normal services are expected to resume running after 3pm.
Adelaide Metro is working to limit the impact to train passengers, however the timing of the action means there will be very limited spare buses and drivers available to run substitute bus services.
A small number of substitute bus services will be operating every 30 minutes to hourly (depending on the line) between 9am on Thursday morning until 3pm. These services will run in close vicinity to typical train lines, please check the Adelaide Metro website for more details, including substitute bus stop locations and alternative bus services.
Customers are encouraged to plan ahead and consider other alternative transport arrangements, including catching regular bus services, trams, or organising a lift with family or friends.
Adelaide Metro will continue to keep customers informed of impacts to train services via all available channels, including at adelaidemetro.com.au, on the Adelaide Metro’s X account and the Adelaide Metro's Facebook page.
Passengers are also being made aware of this disruption to services with signage in Adelaide Railway Station and station announcements across the network.
Passengers can also call the Adelaide Metro Infoline on 1300 311 108 or visit the Adelaide Metro InfoCentre in the Adelaide Railway Station (both open 7am-8pm daily) with any enquiries.
Adelaide Metro has also been advised of the intention of some drivers to carry out similar industrial action next week on Tuesday 16 April between 6am and 8am and Wednesday 17 April 4pm to 6pm. More information will be provided to customers as soon as it is available.
Adelaide Metro thanks all customers for their patience and apologises for the inconvenience caused by this industrial action.
