Showtime! Roll up, roll up on board Adelaide Metro to the Royal Adelaide Show
Monday, 28 August 2023
As excitement builds for the biggest Royal Adelaide Show in years, showgoers are encouraged to make Adelaide Metro public transport their first ride of the day.
Adelaide Metro has many public transport options available for families, including show shuttle buses (route 21W) which will run from the city every 20 minutes starting from 8am.
The shuttle buses will loop between Stop V1 Currie Street and Goodwood Road Interchange at the Adelaide Showground. The last service will leave the Showground at 11.10pm each night.
A special 22W O-Bahn show express bus will also operate every day from Tea Tree Plaza Interchange via the O-Bahn, stopping at Paradise and Klemzig before travelling express to the Showground. The last service will leave Adelaide Showground at 10.45pm Sunday to Thursday and 11.15pm Friday and Saturday.
With over 30 Adelaide Metro bus, train and tram stops within walking distance of the Showground, there are plenty of services available for everyone to enjoy a safe day out.
Many buses that usually operate express, or with limited stops, will service stops around the Showground for the period of the Show (2-10 September).
The best-value fares are on metroCARD, and passengers are reminded to recharge and register their metroCARDs ahead of their trip to the Show.
The popular Tap and Pay option is now available on most Adelaide Metro buses (including all O-Bahn buses) and all trams, as the switch to convenient credit card options continues.
Children aged under five travel free with a fare paying adult and on weekends children between five and 15 travel free with an adult using a valid day trip ticket.
Pre-purchase your metroCARD from Adelaide Metro or your local metroCARD retailer.
Paper tickets are no longer accepted on buses but may be used on trains and trams.
South Australian Seniors Card holders are reminded they can enjoy free travel every day on all Adelaide Metro services.
Passengers are encouraged to visit www.adelaidemetro.com.au to check their timetable in real time and plan their trip with Adelaide Metro’s journey planner.
