Notice to Mariners No 18 of 2023 (Temporary)

HARBORS AND NAVIGATION ACT 1993
SOUTH AUSTRALIA – RAPID BAY – PARTIALLY COLLAPSED JETTY
Mariners are advised that the Minister for Infrastructure and Transport under section 11 of the Harbors and Navigation Act 1993 (the Act), pursuant to section 67 of the Act has directed the following, in relation to the partially collapsed Old Rapid Bay Jetty:
- That vessels and any other water traffic be prohibited from navigating beneath or within 15 metres on either side of the section of the ‘Old Rapid Bay Jetty’, Rapid Bay, South Australia, that commences at the yellow gate at the beginning of the Old Rapid Bay Jetty and extends seaward along the Old Rapid Bay Jetty for 406 metres (‘prohibited area’).
- That the prohibited area described in 1 above be closed to all persons and vessels until the area is deemed safe for navigation and this Ministerial Direction is withdrawn by further instrument in writing.
- That only persons and vessels that have the approval of the Minister, or delegate, be permitted to enter the prohibited area described in 1 above.
