Notice to Mariners No. 16 of 2021 (Temporary)

SOUTH AUSTRALIA – THEVENARD JETTY AND YATALA CHANNEL – MAINTENANCE OPERATIONS, TEMPORARY WORKING DEPTHS AND STRUCTURE REMOVAL

Mariners are advised that Maritime Constructions will be carrying out maintenance and construction activities on the Thevenard Jetty and throughout the Yatala Channel. The works will commence on 17 July and conclude on 3 November 2021 (weather permitting) with activities being undertaken during daylight hours only.

Floating plant will be operating within close proximity of the Thevenard Jetty and the Yatala Channel and mariners are advised to proceed with caution in the vicinity of this floating plant.

VHF Channel 12 will be monitored throughout the works.

Mariners are also advised that following a hydrographic survey, the depths of the North Berth and that portion of the Yatala Channel between Beacons 12 and 16 have been reduced. The Temporary Working Depths of this Berth and this portion of the Channel are now 9.6m and 8m respectively.

Note: Depths are referred to Lowest Astronomical Tide (LAT).

Mariners are also advised that the ‘Old Landfall Beacon’ structure located approximately 350 metres north west of the No.4 Beacon at approximate WGS 84 position 32° 10 ’56.69” S, 133° 35’ 41.74” E will be removed during this time.
