Local Government voting closes this Friday
6 November 2018
Voters are strongly encouraged to vote in the 2018 local council elections by completing and returning their ballot papers by the end of this week.
For your vote to count it must be received by the Returning Officer before close of voting at 5pm Friday 9 November 2018.
If voters are unable to post their completed ballots in time, they can place it in the ballot box at their local council office by close of voting.
Voting for council elections is by postal ballot which means that all election material has now been mailed directly to enrolled voters.
Voting packs, which were sent to enrolled voters registered on the State Electoral Roll as well as those who have enrolled on their council’s Voters Roll, contain candidate profile brochures, ballot papers, reply paid envelope and a postal voting guide.
Contact the Electoral Commission SA on 1300 655 232 (within SA only) if you haven’t received your voting pack.
The last day for postal issue/reissue of voting material is 5pm tomorrow, Wednesday 7 November 2018.
Further details on council elections, including information on candidates standing for election, can be found on the Local Government Association website
