Temporary closure of South Road for northbound traffic for T2T works
Monday, 5 February 2018
As part of the $801 million Torrens Road to River Torrens Project, works will be undertaken on South Road, with temporary closures overnight for northbound traffic on South Road.
SOUTH ROAD, near Susan Street
Night works, to allow the installation of overhead gantries, will be undertaken between 7pm and 6am on Monday 5 February and Tuesday 6 February (finishing 6am Wednesday 7 February), weather permitting.
South Road will be temporarily closed to northbound traffic between Ashwin Parade and Grange Road from 10pm Tuesday 6 February until 6am Wednesday 7 February 2018:
- Local access to West Hindmarsh will be made available via a temporary detour route.
- Right turns in to Adam Street from South Road will be allowed only during the South Road closure, under the guidance of a traffic controller.
- South Road southbound will remain open.
No pedestrian access will be provided on the western side of South Road between Hindmarsh Avenue and Gawler Avenue with access maintained on the eastern side of South Road.
SOUTH ROAD, between Port Road and the Outer Harbor Rail Bridge
Night works will be undertaken between 7pm and 6am on Wednesday 7 February and Thursday 8 February (finishing 6am Friday 9 February), weather permitting.
South Road will be temporarily closed to northbound traffic between Port Road and the Outer Harbor rail bridge from 10pm Thursday 8 February until 6am Friday 9 February 2018:
- South Road will be temporarily closed to northbound traffic between Port Road and the Outer Harbor rail bridge.
- Local access into Croydon will be available via Port Road and Queen Street.
- The u-turn facility on Port Road at Queen Street will provide access to city bound traffic as normal.
- South Road southbound will remain open.
- Signage will be in place to direct motorists to local detour routes.
No pedestrian access will be provided on the western side of South Road between Port Road and Day Terrace, access will be maintained on the eastern side of South Road.
Lane and speed restrictions will be in place on the northbound lanes of South Road in the vicinity of the works.
Signage will be in place to alert motorists to the changed traffic conditions.
