Traffic switch signals next stage of Gawler East Link Road works
Friday, 6 December 2019
Motorists are advised a traffic switch will occur on Main North Road, Evanston on Monday, 9 December, as part of the Gawler East Link Road (GELR) and Tulloch Road Intersection Upgrade projects.
This is an important milestone for the projects, signifying the completion of the first stage of works, consisting of road widening and commercial access works, along Main North Road.
As part of the next stage of works, expected to be completed in April 2020, weather permitting, traffic travelling on the southbound lane of Main North Road will be redirected to the northbound carriageway. This will enable the upgrade of existing kerb and asphalt, including the installation of new concrete footpaths.
Main North Road will remain open to traffic in both directions at all times and existing speed restrictions will continue.
Signage and traffic management will be in place to advise motorists, cyclists and pedestrians of the changed traffic conditions.
Access to local businesses in the area will remain open whilst these works are in progress. Please support your local businesses.
Thank you for your patience while these important works are undertaken.
