Crows star Eddie Betts takes message to APY Lands
Friday, 22 February 2019
Adelaide Crows great Eddie Betts has joined forces with DPTI’s On the Right Track to deliver an important message to Indigenous youth in remote communities.
The passionate community supporter filmed a series of videos on a tour of the APY Lands, telling young people about the benefits of obtaining a driver’s licence through the program and then making sure they drive safely.
The star footballer dropped into schools to share his personal story with students.
In the first of the videos, Eddie says a program such as On the Right Track would have helped when he was young and facing the challenge of getting his licence.
“I really wish I’d had On the Right Track,” Eddie says. “It would have made it much easier.”
His most passionate message is reserved for the issue of safety, an issue he takes to heart both at home and on the road.
Watch the video below to hear his powerful message.
