E-scooter trial rolled out in Adelaide CBD
Monday, 18 February 2019
The trial of an electric-scooter hire service is will run across Adelaide’s CBD during the 2019 Fringe Festival Season.
E-scooters have become popular in many cities around the world and are considered by some as a possible sustainable alternative transport option for short journeys in the future.
The Adelaide E-scooter trial will run from Friday 15 February to Sunday 17 March, with scooters available through trial operator Lime. These are the only e-scooters that can be ridden during the trial.
Specific laws apply to the trial and the Adelaide City Council will monitor and evaluate its effectiveness, with the possibility of expanding the use outside the trial period to be considered when results are in.
