Works set to commence at the intersection of the South Eastern Freeway, with Cross Road, Portrush Road and Glen Osmond Road

Pavement rehabilitation works at the intersection of the South Eastern Freeway, with Cross Road, Portrush Road and Glen Osmond Road will commence from Tuesday, 16 November 2021, weather permitting.

The works involve removing existing pavement and replacing it with new asphalt to ensure the long term safety and integrity of the intersection for all road users.

To safely facilitate the works and minimise impact to road users, the majority of works will be undertaken at night from Sunday to Friday, between 7pm and 6am, with project completion expected in early 2022.

Service investigations are scheduled to commence from Tuesday, 16 November 2021, and will require single lane closures and speed restrictions on the approaches to, and through, the intersection.

Pavement rehabilitation works will commence from Thursday, 18 November 2021, and will be undertaken in four separate sections (see map below), one section at a time.

Roads will remain open, with two way traffic maintained at all times and speed restrictions in place. Traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction through the work zone during work hours.

Please expect some delays. Outside of work hours, all lanes will be open to traffic with speed restrictions in place.

South Eastern Freeway works

Major pavement rehabilitation works are continuing on the South Eastern Freeway between the Glen Osmond Tollgate and the Crafers Interchange. Final pavement works in the citybound Heysen Tunnels have been completed.

Speed restrictions will remain in place for around four to six weeks following the completion of works to enable excess bitumen to be worn to a safe level prior to the regular speed limit being reinstated.

Cross Road works

In addition to these works, major pavement rehabilitation works are continuing on Cross Road between Hexham Avenue (just east of Fullarton Road) and Glen Osmond Road.

These works are expected to be completed early December 2021, weather permitting.
