Southern Expressway access restrictions

23 August 2019
As part of the Darlington Upgrade Project, access to the Southern Expressway from Main South Road will be closed for three nights from Tuesday, 27 August.
The gantry installation in the lowered motorway, just south of Flinders Drive, will prevent access to the Southern Expressway from Main South Road at the following times:
- 8pm, Tuesday, 27 August, until 5am, Wednesday, 28 August
- 8pm, Wednesday, 28 August, until 5am, Thursday, 29 August
- 8pm, Thursday, 29 August, until 5am, Friday, 30 August
To enable the works to be safely undertaken, the southbound lanes of the lowered motorway will be closed.
As a result, southbound Main South Road motorists wanting to access the Southern Expressway during the works will need to detour via Sturt Road and use the expressway on-ramp at Marion Road.
The northbound carriageway of the Southern Expressway and Main South Road will be unaffected.
For real-time roadwork information, visit www.addinsight.com.au/app and download the app (available on both Apple and Android), or visit the Traffic SA website at www.traffic.sa.gov.au.
The Department of Planning, Transport and Infrastructure thanks motorists for their patience while these important works are undertaken.
