Living Neighbourhoods

Living Neighbourhoods can help communities to benefit from improved road safety on their local streets by providing tools to assist in collecting your thoughts, resources, ideas and solutions. This tool helps turn ideas into action and make it easier to apply for grants or deliver projects. Ideas could be specific, for example encouraging more people to enjoy their local spaces or developing safer places for children to play.

The Ideas Planner is a simple tool to help you think about the big picture, some possible causes and effects, and compare different solutions. Examples are included to get you started and you can edit the document to suit your aim.

The Action Planner is intended to help you turn your ideas into a project and collect information you are likely to need when talking to Council Planning Officers or submitting funding applications. This may include collecting evidence of the need for your project, getting relevant permissions, communication and publicity, developing budgets, setting milestones and monitoring progress.
