About the project
The Fleurieu Connections Alliance is delivering stage 2 of the duplication of Main South Road. The alliance includes CPB Contractors, Aurecon and GHD, with Sub-Alliance partners McMahon Services Australia and Tonkin, in association with the Department for Infrastructure and Transport.
This project will:
- result in safer and faster journeys for motorists
- be a boost for local tourism, communities
- create hundreds of jobs each year during construction.
We’re on track for project completion in early 2026.
What's happening
Over the last few months we’ve achieved a series of key milestones on the project. These include:
- switching traffic onto the new northbound carriageway
- opening the new Aldinga Bridge.
In the coming months, we’ll work towards:
- opening the southbound ramps to traffic
- completing the connection works at Aldinga
- finalising key utility relocations and upgrades.
