Adelaide’s new suburb - TONSLEY
The Department of Planning, Transport and Infrastructure in conjunction with Marion Council and the Surveyor General are pleased to announce Adelaide's newest suburb, Tonsley.
From Friday 27 January 2017, the suburb area title of Tonsley becomes official, formed through shifting the southern boundary of Clovelly Park and taking in the 61 hectare Tonsley industrial, educational and residential precinct as well as the Monroe Shock Absorbers site.
Have you just become a citizen of Tonsley?
If you live within the boundaries of the new suburb of Tonsley, you may need to update some of your personal contacts. See our checklist for suggested contacts.
Other location details such as council rates, Australia Post and emergency services will be updated by the State Government and your local council.
Benefits of the Tonsley suburb creation include economic growth for South Australia through attracting investment into service activities such as education, research, technological and residential development.
Community consultation saw that general sentiment supports the new suburb and naming of Tonsley.
Tonsley as a suburb will officially exist from Friday 27 January.
To ensure a smooth transition for residents the State Government will rely on 3rd parties that use addressing information to update their own databases after the implementation date. You may experience some difficulties during the initial transition phase.
