From 1 July 2019, the Virtual House is no longer available for outback areas due to the implementation of the new PDI Act 2016.

The Virtual House guides you through common building projects at home that do not require approval to build under the Development Act 1993.

Minor building projects such as erecting a shed, retaining wall or fence do not normally require approval as they are considered to have little impact on the surrounding environment, neighbouring properties and community.
