Community Grants of up to $20,000 (GST exclusive) are being offered by the State Government to help boost recreational fishing in South Australia.
Applications are sought from councils, fishing clubs, businesses and other incorporated bodies. It is expected that successful projects will be announced by mid 2015.
Projects could include but are not limited to one or more of the following:
1. Increasing interest and skills in recreational fishing through family fun days or training days.
2. Improving access and security (paths, board walks, fishing platforms) for recreational fishing.
3. Improving recreational fishing small infrastructure, such as cooking stations, fish cleaning stations, seating, barbeque areas and toilets.
4. Fish restocking and habitat restoration in suitable areas that are open to recreational fishing.
