Body found following Venus Bay tragedy

Venus bay Police have found the body of the missing 17-year-old who had been swept into the sea off Venus Bay on Good Friday morning.

The Victor Harbor boy's body was found in a cave on a cliff face near Venus Bay.

Police would like to thank all those who volunteered their time and efforts to assist us with the search.

Police, other emergency services and locals had been searching for the missing boy since the boat he and two friends were on became submerged near the entrance to Venus Bay on the State's West Coast on Friday morning.

One man, a 22-year-old from the Wudinna area, managed to swim to shore and raise the alarm.

Another man, a 22-year-old from Smoky Bay, was rescued from the water on Friday and rushed to the Streaky Bay hospital, but sadly died upon arrival.

Police will now prepare a report for the Coroner.
