19 December 2013
The Paringa Bridge lifting span will not operate on Christmas Day, Wednesday, 25 December 2013.
The Paringa Bridge spans the River Murray near Renmark. Tall river craft requiring the span to be lifted cannot pass under the bridge.
The lifting of the Paringa Bridge will return to normal on Thursday, 26 December 2013. The Paringa Bridge opens daily at approximately 9.30 am and 2.30 pm.
The lifting of the bridge is a free service, however a booking is required to be made prior to the allocated times.
To arrange for the bridge to be lifted please call 0408 955 322 to place a booking, at least two hours in advance of the allocated time.
The approximate bridge clearance is 3.5 metres which is subject to river level. Height markers are placed at the entrance of the navigation channel to the bridge.
The department thanks users for their patience during the Christmas Day closure.
