Skiers and houseboaters are reminded to keep noise to a minimum when enjoying the River Murray this summer.
While the vast majority do the right thing, police and the department receive occasional complaints about excessive noise from ski boats and stationary houseboats playing loud music.
Because these activities are concentrated in particular areas the noise can irritate fellow river users and those living nearby.
The law gives SA Police the power to take action if necessary with a fine for causing an environmental nuisance of up to $4000 or an expiation of $300.
Please keep others in mind when you share our waterways this summer.
