The department 's customer-focussed approach has seen it become the first State marine survey authority to be internationally assessed and recognised.
The achievement of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems certification recognises the quality and dedication of our marine survey and naval architecture services. It also demonstrates a long-term commitment to customer service, ‘work with you’ ethic, abilities and excellent governance.
Marine survey achieved the certification as part of its role ensuring safety of commercial boats via a consistent, high-quality service and customer-focussed approach and management processes.
The certification process assessed the department's marine survey and naval architecture services, their products and processes. It is a significant milestone that confirms South Australia as a world class marine survey provider.
As a result of experience gained during the certification process, the department adapted its public engagement methods and internal business processes and undertook significant customer contact, feedback and staff training to make sure there was a proven commitment to the ISO Quality Management model.
