South Road Planning (Regency Park to Anzac Highway)
In 2013, the Department of Planning, Transport and Infrastructure completed a preliminary concept planning study that identified high level solutions for establishing the proposed non-stop North-South Corridor between Regency Park and Anzac Highway.
Based on the current level of planning, the final road alignment and footprint of the Corridor through this section is yet to be determined. The preliminary concepts developed as part of this study have been used to identify high level cost estimates, risk identification and indicative impacts (e.g. order of magnitude property costs, social impacts, environmental impacts, impacts on utility services).
This work has helped inform the development of the 10 Year Delivery Strategy for the North-South Corridor and to secure $896 million of funding from the Australian and South Australian Governments towards the Torrens Road to River Torrens Project.
More information about the 10 Year Delivery Strategy for the North-South Corridor is available here.
Initial feedback from the community at the commencement of the study was vital in informing the development of concepts. Further community engagement on the Torrens Road to River Torrens section during the study helped advance planning to better define the Corridor requirements, as the project moved into its delivery phase.
More information about the Torrens Road to River Torrens Project is available here.
Further engagement with the community will be required to advance the planning of the remaining unfunded sections of South Road between the Regency Park and Anzac Highway.
As planning progresses, there will be regular updates and opportunities for you to provide feedback.
