SOUTH AUSTRALIA – GULF ST VINCENT – INVESTIGATOR STRAIGHT – RESEARCH BUOYS DEPLOYED
Mariners are advised that research buoys have been deployed in approximate positions
Gulf of St Vincent
Brighton, -35° 01’ 30.1” S, 138° 26’ 59.9”E
Semaphore, -34° 51’ 18.1” S 138° 20’ 59.8” E
Investigator Strait
Northern Kangaroo Island, -35° 34’ 11.9”S 136° 55’ 31.8”E
The buoys are yellow and 500mm in diameter, spherical shape
A yellow flashing light Fl Y 2s, range 1 nautical mile is fitted on the Brighton and Semaphore buoys only.
These buoys will be deployed for approximately 2 years.
Mooring to these buoys is prohibited and mariners should avoid anchoring in this area.
Mariners are advised to navigate with caution in these areas
