Partial tram line closure

CONNECT - Message from the Chief Executive

3 July 2019

The tram line will be closed between South Terrace, Entertainment Centre and Botanic Gardens from 11:30pm on Saturday, 6 July to last service on Tuesday, 23 July as part of the City South Tram Line Replacement Project.

Trams will continue to run between South Terrace and Glenelg, with substitute buses running between South Terrace, Entertainment Centre and Festival Plaza, and between Botanic Gardens to Royal Adelaide Hospital.

Substitute buses will run to match tram service frequencies and temporary stops will be located as close to existing tram stops as possible. The City South tram stop will not be serviced by substitute buses during the partial closure.

Tram services to two AFL matches – Port Adelaide v Brisbane on Sunday, 14 July, and Adelaide Crows v Essendon on Friday, 19 July – will be impacted during the closure.

Additional replacement services will run before and after the AFL matches to cater for people travelling to and from Adelaide Oval.

Regular tram line services will resume with the first service on Wednesday, 24 July, however the City South tram stop will remain closed for up to a further week.
