Contract Management course launch
18 December 2017
The Department of Planning, Transport and Infrastructure (DPTI) and the University of South Australia (UniSA) have collaboratively designed a suite of innovative postgraduate programs that will equip students with world class skills in contract management.
The resulting new programs in Applied Project Management (Contract Management), which are planned for launch in 2018, build upon the highly successful postgraduate programs in project management that are currently offered by UniSA.
Over the coming years it is expected that the infrastructure, energy, mining and defence sectors will continue to grow and have an ongoing need for staff to be trained in project and contract management.
The new programs are a first of their type in Australia and recognise contract management as an emerging profession and career path in its own right.
The collaboration will deliver courses in contract law and management, strategic procurement, negotiation, commercial construction contract management and construction claims and dispute resolution.
The Certificate, Graduate Diploma and Masters in Applied Project Management (Contract Management) provide an exciting opportunity for professionals to progress their careers in contract management.
As part of this new DPTI and UniSA initiative, leaders of the Procurement and Contracting Directorate aim to promote the value of the new UniSA programs across DPTI and other government departments as well as the private sector.
A ceremony to celebrate the launch of the program in Applied Project Management (Contract Management) will be held on Tuesday 19th December from 4pm to 6pm at the UniSA City West Campus.
