Repairs to embankments commence on Gorge Road

CONNECT - Message from the Chief Executive

9 June 2017

The Department of Planning, Transport and Infrastructure (DPTI) is improving safety for motorists with embankment works on Gorge Road.

The works will occur at two sites along Gorge Road around Cudlee Creek and will be undertaken between 7am – 5pm Monday to Saturday, from Tuesday 13 June until the end of August 2017, weather permitting.

Works will take place approximately 400m north of the intersection with Torrens Hill Road. This worksite will be subject to 24 hour temporary traffic signals allowing one way traffic to pass with a 25 km/h speed restriction in place.

Further works will occur to the east of the intersection with Cudlee Creek Road. Gorge Road will be closed to all traffic between that intersection and the North East Road intersection in the north. Only local traffic will be permitted to proceed.

The traffic detour during site works will be via Tippet Road and North East Road.

Traffic management staff will be on site throughout the works. The safety of workers and the general public is paramount so please take care when travelling through work zones.

Motorists are advised to allow for delays when planning their journey.

The $500,000 works are funded through the State Government’s Critical Road Maintenance Program.
