Put gender on your agenda
08 Mar 2017
International Women’s Day is observed on 8 March, celebrating the social, cultural and political achievements of women in pursuit of equal rights and a call to action for accelerating gender parity.
This week our department held a workshop in light of this year’s official theme of the day #BeBoldforChange, to celebrate the department’s commitment to gender equality and explore how we, as individuals, can step up and take bold action and play our part to create more equal, inclusive cultures.
Discussions centred on two key topics of flexibility and leadership – considering how we need to think differently to explore new possibilities, have a bias for yes to help make change happen and lead by example to role model the characteristics we want for our organisation.
We recognise the benefits that a diverse and inclusive culture brings for our staff and customers. By harnessing the diversity of our purposes and people we strive to achieve positive outcomes that will improve the lifestyles of all South Australians every day.
