Reduced Public Transport Services 28 – 30 December 2016
14 December 2016
Public Transport services will be reduced from Wednesday 28 to Friday 30 December 2016 to allow for more efficient use of resources based on demand.
Each year, patronage on the bus, train and tram network is significantly lower over the Christmas/New Year period, particularly the non-public holidays between Christmas and New Year. In 2015 the average daily bus patronage reduced by 45% over this period.
From Wednesday 28 to Friday 30 December 2016 a number of bus services will not operate, train services will operate to their normal timetable with a reduced number of carriages and tram services will remain unchanged.
The reduced services will have sufficient capacity and frequency to cater for demand during this time of year.
All services will resume for New Year’s Eve.
